This passion for design all started with playing games. My first game was Pokemon Red, and I played that game so avidly that I lost hours and hours of my childhood to the fantastic world of Pokemon. However, I have always felt games are important to the development and education of children everywhere. When I was learning to read, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time helped motivate me to learn how to read, and I have often cited this to emphasize the educational importance of video games.
I began role-playing in eighth grade when I created an adventure-based forum game called The Sword of Espaladon. This game wasn't much of a success, but my ideas from this game have definitely influenced the creation of countless other ideas and has been a pivotal point in my game design career.
I started playing conventional tabletop RPGs in my junior year of high school with a group of my brother and his friends. The RPG in question was the old Marvel Superheroes RPG and since joining, I have played the role of game master a handful of times, with general success in each excursion.
I may still be young, but I have had a lifetime to think up new games and I constantly create new ones. I believe RolePlayGateway can help me flourish as an aspiring game designer.
